DESCRIPTION:The Bridges Transition Program for 18+ is excited to announce the grand opening of the Bridges Boutique on Thursday\, Dec. 16 at the site of the old Carver Elementary School located at 1200 W. 17th Street in downtown Georgetown.  The Boutique will feature the hand-crafted works of students enrolled in the program and serve as a job site for students who are learning enterprise-level skills as they transition from high school to a more independent adult life. \n\n \n\nVisitors to the shop will find fresh salsa\, made with fresh locally-grown ingredients\, hand-made jewelry and candles\, embossed leather-bound journals\, and original art greeting cards. \n\n \n\nThe community is invited to the grand opening event on Dec. 16 -17 from 10 am until 1 pm. Students will be serving coffee with specially-made creamer to enjoy while you shop.\n\n \n\nFollowing the grand opening on Thursday\, introductory hours for the Boutique will be:\n\nThursdays\, 10 am -1pm\n\nFridays\, 10 am -1pm\n\non regular school/business days\n\n \n\nPlease note that only cash and checks are currently accepted in the Boutique.\n\n \n\nAbout the Bridges program:\n\nBridges is designed to support students by helping them apply the skills they have learned in school to their adult life.  The Bridges program design is community and vocationally based\; the focus is putting an adult schedule in place. These schedules include needed supports and are structured to help students access adult life as they transition out of public education.
