DESCRIPTION:About the Quarterly Cornerstone Luncheons:\n\nThe four cornerstones for a Chamber of Excellence are Healthcare\, Public Safety\, Economic Development\, and Education. Held at Celebrino Event Center\, each luncheon features a special speaker on one of our four cornerstone topics. This month's luncheon focuses on healthcare.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSpeaker: Hugh Brown\, CEO at St. David's Hospital Georgetown\n\n\n\nAbout the Speaker: \n\nHugh Brown has served as chief executive officer of St. David's Georgetown Hospital since February 2007. Mr. Brown currently serves as a board member of Williamson County Institute for Excellence in Nonprofits\, the Grace Academy board\, the Caring Place board and the Veteran's of Foreign Wars and American Legion posts in Georgetown. He is also a member of Main Street Baptist Church in Georgetown\, where he teaches a weekly adult Bible study and serves on its leadership committee.\n\nBrown came to St. David's Georgetown Hospital from Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach\, South Carolina. He joined Grand Strand Regional in 1992\, where he held numerous leadership positions including chief operating officer and chief development officer.\n\nBrown earned a bachelor's degree in business administration degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill under a U.S. Navy ROTC scholarship. He went on to earn a master's degree in business administration from Winthrop University.
