SUMMARY:2023 Leadership GT Retreat
DESCRIPTION:In order to make your outdoor experience more enjoyable\, here are a few things you should know as a participant of the Georgetown Challenge Course.\n\n\n\nA. Clothing - During the day\, your group will be participating in some active\n\ngames and problem solving initiatives. Please wear comfortable clothing\n\nthat allows ease of movement. Closed toe shoes are required. Athletic shoes\n\nare recommended. Do not wear sandals\, Five-Fingers or opened-toed\n\nshoes. We recommend to dress in layers for the cooler weather. If your\n\ngroup will be participating in the High Elements\, please wear pants\, tights\,\n\nor longer shorts as you will be wearing a harness. Be comfortable!\n\n\n\nB. Jewelry   For your safety\, we ask that you leave all loose\, expensive and\n\ndangly jewelry at home or the trunk of your car. We don't want you to lose\n\nit!\n\n\n\nC. Sun/Weather Protection - Although parts of the course are shaded\, we will\n\nbe spending some time in the sun. We recommend that you protect yourself\n\naccordingly with sunscreen\, sunglasses\, and a hat. On the other hand\, if\n\nthere is a chance of rain\, bring a rain jacket. Dress and prepare for the\n\nweather!\n\n\n\nD. Food/Water - Water will be provided at the course site. Please BRING A\n\nWATER BOTTLE. We will be participating in high-energy activities\, so\n\nyou are welcome to bring snacks to eat throughout the day to boost your\n\nenergy level. Please check with your group leader to see what lunch\n\narrangements have been made for the day.\n\n\n\nE. Other - the Challenge Course is in the great outdoors and is therefore home to many agreeable (and a few disagreeable) creatures (mosquitoes\, chiggers etc.). During the summer\, bug spray or OFF is recommended.\n\n\n\nF. Smoking/Tabaco is not permitted on the Challenge Course.\n\n\n\nG. LOCATION:DIRECTIONS TO THE GEORGETOWN CHALLENGE COURSE FROM AUSTIN (South of Georgetown): travel north on IH-35 to Georgetown. Take the 261A Exit (Williams Drive Lake Georgetown / Andice Exit). Drive down the frontage road to the light and turn left onto Williams Drive. FROM NORTH OF GEORGETOWN: travel south on IH-35 to Georgetown. Take exit 262 for Williams Drive. Drive down the frontage road to the light and turn right onto Williams Drive. FROM HIGHWAY 29 (Liberty Hill) : take 29 until you hit the stop light in Georgetown. Cross over I35 and take a left at the next light and stay on the frontage road until you hit Williams Drive and take a left. Once on Williams Drive Go straight and Turn left on Booty's Road (Look for Walgreens). Drive approximately 1.5 miles. This is a residential road (speed limit is 35!). Turn left into the gate area immediately following the sharp 15 mph curve sign. We will meet in the Parking Lot.
