Preservation Georgetown

Preservation Georgetown's mission is to preserve and promote interest in Georgetown’s heritage. Among PG’s lasting achievements are organizing the first Christmas Stroll, reviving the old traditional May Fair (Red Poppy Festival), starting the Georgetown History and Visitor Information Center, saving Williams Elementary (now known as the Hammerlun Center), establishing the Olive Street historic district, and collecting a repository of historic photographs and documents now available in the Preservation Georgetown living collection at Southwestern University's Special Collections.
