2026 Leadership Georgetown Class Project Consideration Request Form

The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce invites eligible nonprofit organizations to apply to be considered as the Leadership Georgetown Class Project recipient for the 2026–2027 program year. Leadership Georgetown is a nine-month community leadership development program designed to cultivate a group of highly motivated individuals who are committed to strengthening their leadership skills, deepening their civic engagement, and becoming more actively involved in the Georgetown community.

Through a combination of immersive learning, hands-on experience, and meaningful collaboration, Leadership Georgetown participants gain a deeper understanding of the essential roles that shape our community, including the Chamber of Commerce, local government, education systems, economic development efforts, and nonprofit service organizations. The program encourages participants to build strong relationships, explore opportunities for personal involvement, and develop lasting connections with current, past, and future community leaders. Ultimately, Leadership Georgetown helps prepare graduates to step into leadership roles within the Chamber and throughout the broader Georgetown community.

A cornerstone of this experience is the annual class project, through which participants partner with a local nonprofit organization to complete a meaningful project that addresses a real community need. This collaboration provides nonprofits with valuable volunteer support, resources, and increased visibility while offering participants practical, real-world leadership development.

This partnership is a unique opportunity for organizations to engage directly with emerging community leaders while advancing work that makes a lasting impact in Georgetown. Eligible Chamber-member nonprofits are encouraged to apply and share projects that will both strengthen their mission and provide a meaningful, achievable leadership experience for the class.

The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications from eligible nonprofit organizations through Friday, July 31, 2026. To qualify, organizations must be a 501(c)3 nonprofit in good standing and a member of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce.

Applications must be accompanied by Form 990, or IRS Determination of 501(c)3 Status, or they will not be considered for review.

PLEASE NOTE: To ensure the Leadership Georgetown Class Project benefits a variety of organizations throughout the community, organizations that have previously been selected as a Leadership Georgetown Class Project recipient are not eligible to apply again until three (3) years have passed since the completion of their selected project. Organizations that have reached the three-year eligibility period are welcome to submit a new Request for Consideration for a different project that addresses a current organizational priority or community need.

Organizations selected are responsible for securing the funding necessary to complete the project.
