Program Manager Job Description 
 
Position Title: Program Manager 
Reports to: Executive Director
 
Scope of Responsibility: This is a volunteer, part-time [estimated at ten (10) flexible hours per week] position. The Program Manager will be responsible for the planning, execution, and oversight of key programs that align with the nonprofit's mission. This role will involve coordinating volunteer assignments, monitoring program outcomes, ensuring efficient use of resources, and maintaining strong relationships with partners, funders, and participants.
 
Program Management

  • Implement program strategies in line with the organization’s mission and goals.
  • Lead day-to-day operations of programs, ensuring adherence to goals, timelines and budgets.
  • Prepare reports for the Executive Director and Board of Directors to communicate program successes, challenges and impacts.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with community partners, funders, and stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization at community meetings, events, and conferences.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to promote programs, ensuring broad community awareness and engagement.
 
Project Management
The Program Manager will collaborate closely with the Executive Director / Board of Directors to carry out and oversee responsibilities for the projects assigned. Example projects include:
  • Improve volunteer Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) engagement; create and maintain a SMEs’ skills and availability database; create and maintain SME orientation materials.
  • Update The Institute’s Clients database
  • Oversee the activities of volunteer interns with The Institute
  • Attend the Institute’s Board of Directors meetings to report on activities.
  • Maintain new Board of Director orientation materials
  • Perform any other assigned activities as necessary to advance The Institute in its outreach.
 
Qualifications:
  • Background and significant experience managing business and/or nonprofit projects
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills,
  • Proficiency using technology systems and Microsoft Office Suite
