Leadership Georgetown Class Partners with Texas Baptist Children’s Home on Community Improvement Project

Georgetown, Texas, United States, April 21, 2026 — The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Georgetown Class is proud to announce its class project benefiting the Texas Baptist Children’s Home, a longstanding organization dedicated to supporting children and families in need.

As part of their commitment to community leadership and service, this year’s Leadership Georgetown class selected two hands-on improvement projects designed to enhance the outdoor space for residents at the Texas Baptist Children’s Home.

“The Leadership Georgetown program is designed to develop informed, engaged leaders who are committed to making a meaningful impact in our community,” said Shontel Mays, President and CEO of the Georgetown Chamber. “This project reflects that mission by creating a lasting improvement for an organization that serves some of our most vulnerable neighbors.”

The project includes the rebuilding of an existing deck, the extension of a concrete pad, and the addition of a gazebo to create a more functional and welcoming outdoor gathering area. These improvements will provide a safe and comfortable space for residents.

The concrete pad work is generously supported by Chasco Constructors and Lauren Concrete, who have donated both the concrete materials and the labor required to extend the pad. Their contribution helps this class bring this vision to life and demonstrates the power of local businesses partnering with community initiatives.

“We are deeply grateful to the donors and partners whose generosity helped bring this project to completion. Their support not only strengthened this effort but also reflects the spirit of community working together toward a common goal,” said Mays.

The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce will mark the conclusion of its Leadership Georgetown project with a reveal of the completed project on April 28, 2026.
