Leadership Georgetown Unveils Community Improvement Project with Texas Baptist Children’s Home
Georgetown, Texas, United States, April 30, 2026 — The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Georgetown Class unveiled its class project benefiting the Texas Baptist Children’s Home, with a ribbon-cutting on April 28, 2026.
As part of their commitment to community leadership and service, this year’s Leadership Georgetown class selected two hands-on improvement projects to enhance the outdoor space for residents at the Texas Baptist Children’s Home. The class of thirty-six contributed roughly two hundred hours to these projects. The work reflects what happens every day at the Texas Baptist Children’s Home: rebuilding foundations, restoring hope, and creating new beginnings.
The project includes rebuilding an existing deck, extending a concrete pad, and adding a gazebo to create more functional and welcoming outdoor gathering areas. These improvements will provide a safe and comfortable space for residents.
The concrete pad work is generously provided by Chasco Constructors and Lauren Concrete, who have donated both the concrete materials and the labor required to extend the pad. Their contribution helped this class bring this vision to life and demonstrates the power of local businesses partnering with community initiatives.
“We are deeply grateful to the donors and participants whose generosity helped bring this project to completion. Their support not only strengthened this effort but also reflects the spirit of community working together toward a common goal,” said Shontel Mays, President and CEO of the Georgetown Chamber.
The Chamber’s Leadership Georgetown program is designed to develop informed, engaged leaders who are committed to making a meaningful impact in the community.
